I can’t stand jokes about how young people are more politically radical than past generations cause they erase the history of activism, it just feels so disrespectful even if it’s a joke…..like bro you would be nowhere without the black panther party and other past liberation movements I hope you know this….
Okay so in case y'all don’t know, this is from Pose. A series about the black trans community and ball culture in new York during the 80’s. Its got vogueing, lgbt+ culture, history, drama, romance, comedy, tragedy. Its wonderful and historically accurate and all the trans people are playedby real trans actors.
This is so good I had to reblog it on both of my blogs.
Translation: I have literally no standards whatsoever. I will gobble down literal shit if it’s presented on a pretty platter.
Hot take: You bet your goddamn ass I will gobble down literal shit if it’s presented on a pretty platter because 99.9999% of all other media pretends that pretty platters don’t exist.
I recognize that the argument you’re trying to make is that people who consume media solely due to representation are people with low standards, but I think the more obvious takeaway is that it’s kind of fucked up that the current state of representation in media is such that those low standards can even exist in the first place
Y’all are aware you can appreciate more than one thing, right? You can recognize that the on-set wardrobe designers, drag queens, and Broadway wardrobe designers all have amazing skills? Without throwing anyone under the bus?
Fucking hell y’all

Someone: You can appreciate more that one person per field
